TINY HOME
STEP Warmfloor is a perfect option for heating a tiny home. Space is limited, and precious, in tiny homes. While there are several options to heat source your tiny home, they all require floor space, and all come with challenges in regards to safety, temperature regulation, power requirements and costs to maintain.
Tiny home owners often struggle to regulate the temperature in their space, with many saying it gets too hot too fast. Additionally because most tiny homes are on wheels and have a space between the ground and the bottom of the structure, the cold air seeps in through the floor, creating cold floors and inefficient heating. Tiny home owners need to have heating units that are efficient, safe, economical and have minimal environmental impact.
The STEP Warmfloor heating elements are designed to provide safe, low-voltage (12-48V), AC or DC, floor warming systems for tiny houses and trailer applications. The STEP Warmfloor heating element is self-regulating and cannot overheat. The nature of the material automatically reduces or increases its heat output to adjust to temperature changes.
STEP Warmfloor radiant heating systems use a thin (3/64”), flexible flat heating element, which operates on low voltage. These durable, lightweight heating elements can be stapled or nailed to the subfloor and can be cut to length on the job site. The installation requires almost no floor buildup, making it an excellent choice for remodeling and retrofit applications, in addition to new construction. For any floor warming or radiant heat system, the use of proper thermal insulation is required. Without the use of insulation, cold stripes on the finished floor surface may be evident even with tight element spacing. As a minimum, you need to have more R-value below the elements than above. STEP Warmfloor radiant heating systems have no moving parts and require virtually no maintenance.
